Wilkes advises shareholders of Kestrel Aluminium Systems Limited on sale of business to Schueco UK Limited

The Wilkes Partnership Corporate Team recently advised on the sale of Kestrel Aluminium Systems Limited and Kestrel Powder Coating Limited (together “Kestrel”) to Schueco UK Limited for an undisclosed sum. The business provides products to the commercial and domestic markets via fabricators, specifiers and contractors.

Led by Corporate Partner Rick Smyth and supported by Kiran Munawar, Solicitor and Christie Nelson, Solicitor, the team acted on behalf of Kestrel’s shareholders. The team worked alongside corporate finance advisers Orbis and tax advisers Claritas to secure the deal.

The sale has been made to Schueco UK who are part of the Schüco Group, based in Bielefeld, Germany. The international company is active in more than 80 countries. The Schüco Group develops and sells system solutions for the building envelope made from aluminium, steel and PVC-U. The company works with 40,000 fabricators, architects and investors worldwide and has over 6330 employees.

Kestrel will continue to operate as a separate entity from their Midlands base.

Steve Shute, Director of Kestrel comments: “As a business, we had worked with the team at Wilkes over a number of years. We have always been pleased with their level of support and professionalism. When we got involved with selling the company and needed someone we could trust to take us through the process, protect our interests and ensure that it was all done correctly, it was obvious that we would only turn to Wilkes.”

“Rick and the Wilkes team, together with the other advisors we used, guided us through what is a complex process for us and made the experience of selling as simple as it could be.  We were most grateful for their expertise and handling of the deal.”

Rick Smyth said: “It was a pleasure to be able to support Steve and Jane to deliver a smooth transition. We wish them and Schueco UK all the very best with their future plans. The transaction is just the latest example of how the team at Wilkes are able to deliver substantial cross border transactions for clients. ”
