Christie Nelson joined the Corporate Team at Wilkes in July 2021 and specialises in corporate, commercial and banking law.

 

After graduating in 2018 from the University of Law in Manchester, she went on to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC) part-time whilst working full-time as a Family Law Paralegal in Birmingham. Christie completed the LPC in 2020 with a distinction and has gone on to complete a Masters in the taxation of small businesses. Christie went on to train at a niche corporate law firm in Dudley before joining Wilkes where she completed her training and qualified as a Solicitor in August 2022. Christie advises on matters such as corporate restructures, shareholders agreements, mergers and acquisitions, banking and private equity investments.

Christie also specialises in Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) work, having recently advised on and completed a significant sale of a group to an EOT.

Christie was appointed as Chair for the Birmingham Solicitors Group Committee. She is on the Wilkes Social Committee and netball team and is a big lover of live music and experiencing the independent restaurant and bar scene in Birmingham.
