Wilkes Corporate Team Successfully Completes the Sale of the assets and business of Backer Electric Company
Wilkes is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the sale of the assets and business of Backer Electric Company, a market leader in the design and manufacture of heating elements.
Backer Electric Company, founded in 1938, has been at the forefront of supplying high-volume heating elements to a wide range of household brand names, producing domestic electrical appliances, spares for parts distributors, and specialised elements for industrial, catering, and commercial applications.
Backer Electric Company takes pride in the service it has delivered over the years and the company’s ability to grow organically is testament to such delivery and service. As a result, Backer Electric Company has not been phased by any economic challenges others may have faced in the energy industry.
After being a key player in its industry for several decades and working closely with the buyer over recent months, it was clear that this sale was the right decision for the company. Gareth O’Hara, Senior Partner, at Wilkes said,
“We are pleased to have played a part in the successful sale of the business of Backer Electric Company, a renowned name in the heating elements industry. This deal is another example of us acting as a trusted business advisor and looking out for our clients’ best interests.”
Mark Patten, Director of Backer Electric Company, expressed his gratitude for the support provided by Wilkes throughout the sales process.
“The process of selling the assets of a business was new to me and Wilkes steered me through the process faultlessly, they explained all the points in detail and guided me through all the important and not so important parts, giving great advice when required. During the process when I needed to email or talk to them, their response time was very quick, even when things carried on past the normal operating hours, including holidays, they were always there to help and advise.
My main contact was Kiran Munawar who was very easy and pleasant to work with, with great people skills and excellent knowledge in her field. Kiran’s legal and technical advice was always thorough but sensible which is what’s needed when trying to get deals like this completed, nothing was too much trouble.
Overall I can’t recommend Wilkes highly enough, especially Gareth and Kiran and would use them again without hesitation.”
Gareth O’Hara concluded,
“It was a pleasure working with Mark Patten on this deal. Our focus on providing excellent service and acting as a true partner to our clients is reflected in the success of this transaction. We look forward to continuing our mission of delivering outstanding legal and business advice.”
