The Wilkes Partnership giving back to the community

This year at Wilkes we have been busy with our Corporate Social Responsibility activities. In March and April we took to the parks and pavements for our Everest Challenge in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice. Over the period, our teams were in competition to walk the most steps and the winning team walked over 670,000 steps.  All funds raised were sent to this very worthwhile charity.

We all recognise that school holidays are always a difficult time for struggling local families with children at home. All Wilkes’ offices hold a campaign at each main school holiday and collect donations for our local Foodbanks in Birmingham and Solihull. We regularly collect 15-20 boxes of food each campaign and deliver it to the local hubs.

Many of us are also keen to devote time to volunteering initiatives. Not only have we donated food for the Foodbank, we have also volunteered our time to help at the Birmingham Central Foodbank.

Back in September, we took to the pool in our Swim Down Dementia challenge in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK – our charity of the year. Hundreds of lengths were swum and those who were not fond of the water still took part by walking and counting their steps. A fantastic £500 was raised for this valuable charity.

Finally, Wilkes are committed to improving our environment. Paper usage has always been the beating heart of the lawyer’s office and we are changing that. Over the course of 2020 and 2021 we have reduced our reliance on paper by a huge 50%, instead switching to technology to ensure we are both compliant whilst managing to reduce our reliance on paper to this level. We are committed to reducing this even further in 2022.

We are proud of our achievements and the input we have made to our community and our world.  We will continue to work both in and for our community in the expert advice we provide and initiatives we undertake as a firm.

The Wilkes Partnership are a law firm dedicated to providing expert advice to our clients. For individuals in the form of Wills and Probate, tax planning, family and matrimonial advice, probate and property disputes, employment and moving house. For businesses in the form of corporate, commercial and employment advice together with commercial disputes, real estate and planning and regulatory matters.
