FamilyRuth joined Wilkes in 2012, having practised in children matters in Birmingham for a number of years before that. Ruth went on to become the Head of the Childcare Department in 2015 and a Partner in 2018.
Ruth specialises in children matters, predominantly public law work involving care proceedings and adoption matters, representing children, parents and other family members. Ruth also acts on behalf of children in disputes between their parents.

Ruth acted for the appellant grandmother in the recently reported successful appeal case of Re T (A child) [2018] EWCA Civ 1407.
Ruth has been a Member of the Law Society Children Panel since 2012.
