Wilkes advises U.S. forestry management company F&W Forestry Services on UK Acquisition

Wilkes advises U.S. forestry management company F&W Forestry Services Inc (F&W) on the acquisition of OCS Forestry UK Limited as part of its expansion of operations, both into the UK and across North America.

Global forestry management company, F&W, recently completed its acquisition of OCS Forestry UK Limited now known as Fountains Forestry UK Limited along with U.S. forestry management company, Fountains Forestry Inc and retail forest real estate company, Fountains Lands Inc, with the corporate team at Wilkes providing legal advice on the transaction on all UK aspects of the transaction.

F&W is a global forest resource management and consulting company.  The company handles timber sales, provides comprehensive forest management and consulting services, and offers forest real estate services to private and industrial landowners.  They manage forest land across the U.S. as well as Uruguay, Brazil, France and now the United Kingdom.

Marshall Thomas, President of F&W.

“This acquisition is a very compatible and comfortable fit for F&W.  There is a tremendous amount of synergy between F&W and the three companies geographically and operationally.  And with the excellent and practical advice and support of Wilkes, we were able to understand the UK legal situation in regards to the transaction and also get our new UK company set up and operating in a reasonable amount of time.”

Gareth O’Hara, Partner and head of the corporate team at Wilkes LLP.

“We are seeing more international transactions as our network broadens and our firm expands.  This was an opportunity to work with US advisers and in particular Moore Clarke Duvall & Rodgers.   We advised a growing US company in the hands of an Entrepreneur and as deals go, they don’t come any greener than this”.
