Sarah joined the Wilkes employment team in 2016 and has over 10 years’ experience in employment law, advising and representing both individuals and businesses.
Sarah provides advice in relation to contentious matters such as unfair dismissal, redundancy, claims under the Equality Act 2010, TUPE, breach of restrictive covenants, internal disciplinary and grievance matters and this includes Employment Tribunal litigation.
Sarah also works closely with the firm’s corporate and insolvency teams supporting their clients with day-to-day employment law advice in relation to their transactions.
As well as representing clients in contentious matters, Sarah advises on all non-contentious issues such as contracts of employment, policies and procedures as well as the provision of HR support. She also drafts settlement agreements and provides the necessary independent advice to employees.
Having completed her training contract at Wilkes Nicola qualified in July 2018 and was offered a role within our Birmingham Private Client Team.
Nicola is building her expertise in the field of will drafting, trust administration and Inheritance Tax planning.
Lucy qualified into the firm’s Private Client Department in 2014 having undertaken her training at the firm. She deals with all areas of Private Client to include Wills, Probate and Estate administration, Trusts and Trust administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.
Lucy is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) having completed the qualification in 2018. STEP is the industry high standard for leading private client lawyers.
Having joined Wilkes in 2019 from Coley & Tilley, Lesley is a Senior Associate in our Residential Conveyancing Team.
Lesley has in excess of 20 years experience within the local property market and fully understands the stresses and strains that moving home can create.
She is down to earth and friendly in her relationships with her clients and very proactive in her approach to getting transactions completed as quickly as possible. She also believes in making sure her clients are fully informed throughout.
Verity has in excess of 10 years’ experience as a legal professional, specialising in private client services.
During this time Verity has assisted many clients with the preparation of their Wills, putting their affairs in order with the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney, assisting people who no longer have the mental capacity to handle their own affairs by making Court of Protection deputyship applications.
She also is highly experienced at assisting clients in a time of grief with administering a deceased’s persons estate.
Verity has a personable approach and is empathetic to clients who may be struggling in the situations they find themselves in.
Having joined Wilkes in 2019 from Coley & Tilley, Jane is a Senior Associate in our Family Law Team.
With over 30 years experience Jane is perfectly placed to offer her clients expert advice on a wide range of family law matters.
Jane is also accredited by the Law Society as a recognised family lawyer, which is a scheme set up to recognise high calibre professionals within their practice areas.

Andrew has over 35 years’ experience as a qualified solicitor and offers client a broad breadth of experience and specialises in wills, probate and estate planning
In addition to non-contentious work, Andrew has considerable experience of all aspects of disputes over wills and inheritance. Andrew regularly leads seminars on wills, trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Andrew is a keen supporter of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists of which he is an Honorary Vice-President.
