Management Buy-Outs Demystified

Midland businesses can get to grips with management buy-outs (MBO) at a free seminar, hosted by experts in corporate finance, law and accounting.

The breakfast event ‘MBOs Demystified’ will be held at Hogarths Hotel, Dorridge, on Tuesday 8th September, and will explain the processes, benefits, risks and planning issues related to management buy-outs.

Hosted by Odyssey Corporate Finance, The Wilkes Partnership and Jerroms Accountants, the event is aimed at shareholders who are considering their exit options, as well as ambitious management teams looking to become their own bosses through an MBO.

Rick Smyth, corporate partner at The Wilkes Partnership and speaker at the event, comments: “This event will offer advice on tax planning, legal issues, how MBOs are funded, deal structures and process, and dos and don’ts. Real life insight will be provided by Richard Grethe who will tell his story of the MBO of Focus Pharmaceuticals. Richard led the MBO in 2007 when Focus was turning over £12m, and then sold the company in 2014 to a trade buyer for £70m.”
