How can a solicitor help with probate?

Dealing with the administration of a loved one’s estate single-handedly can be overwhelming, especially when overcoming the grief that losing a loved one can cause. There are many aspects of administrating an estate that may be unfamiliar that a solicitor can assist you with by guiding you through the process. Our team at The Wilkes Partnership can help from administrating an estate in its entirety or simply extracting the Grant of Representation on your behalf whether a Will was left or if the estate is intestate (when there is no valid Will).

This informative video explains what a solicitor does to help when distributing an estate in the instance that a Will has been left. When a loved one passes away and leaves a Will, they will appoint executor(s) who are responsible for distributing the estate in accordance to the Will. This video briefly explains what is involved in this process such as establishing assets and any debts, and obtaining a Grant of Probate and what a solicitor can do to assist.

We have solicitors who are Members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and who are Members of the Solicitors for the Elderly professional body.
