Notary

Throughout a person’s life, they may encounter documents, both personal and business-related, that require notarisation. Our Notary, Ann-Marie Aston, a Partner in the Firm, brings almost a decade of experience to a wide range of notary matters.

Ann-Marie can authenticate and certify signatures, authority, and capacity for documents intended for use abroad. This authentication is crucial for the acceptance of documents in non-UK jurisdictions, such as verifying a passport or the signatures on a Power of Attorney to buy or sell property abroad. Our notary services not only ensure the proper notarisation of documents but also work with your overseas lawyer or representative on the necessary documentation for your specific needs.

Contact us to receive a fixed-fee quote bespoke to your needs, we can service clients at their homes or places of work for an additional fee.

Frequently asked questions

The role of a notary public and a solicitor are very different. Many notaries are also practising solicitors.  A notary public is a regulated legal professional authorised to practise by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury to notarise documents for use mostly overseas.  They must remain impartial and maintain international standards and act in accordance with the Notary Practice Rules and the Code of Practice.
