Ellie’s update: May 2021

The last 12 months have been interesting to say the least! Whilst undoubtedly the most challenging of years for many, both at work and personally, it is inspiring to look back on what we have all achieved.

The initial shock of everyone having to work from home at such short notice was overcome by the prompt efforts of our IT team, and your collective commitment to make it work. Whilst some of us will hope to not have to face home schooling again, working from home has been a positive experience for many. As a business we can see the benefits and we are keen to continue with an agile approach to home/office working moving forward.

The collaborative approach throughout the firm was clearly demonstrated by our adopting paper-light. This initiative will not only save trees, it also supports our vision of agile working for the future. We have seen an increase in our chargeable hours, which is a testament to the hard work of you all. Notwithstanding the difficulties we have faced we have continued to service our clients and see some real signs of growth for our future.

We have continued to invest in our IT and we remain committed to continue to do so to improve our IT and infrastructure as we continue to grow. We have also strengthened our Marketing & Business Development Team, to support you and your teams moving forward.

We have welcomed new faces to the firm, and hope soon to all be able to get together in person. We are delighted to have retained Charlotte and Matt following completion of their training contracts, and we are pleased to have recently announced the promotions of Kirstie, Leighann and Sian to Senior Associate, and Elisabeth, Helen and Lucy to Associate.

As we end the financial year, we hope that you have a sense of pride in what has been collectively achieved; together we have remained focused and committed.  We now start a new financial year with a new found strength and resilience, and we are looking forward to build further on the successes we have all achieved as we continue to grow.

On behalf of all of the partners, thank you!

Ellie
