Once again The Wilkes Partnership are ditching “Secret Santa” this Christmas to buy Christmas presents for children affected by domestic violence in refuges in the region – and is urging its business clients to do the same.
Wilkes have joined prestigious companies from around the UK such as Arsenal Football Club, Amazon, Barclays, Drayton Manor, Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Hasbro, HSBC, L’Oreal and The Guardian.
Wilkes have teamed up with the charity KidsOut, who focus on giving vulnerable children fun and happiness through positive experiences.
Gordon Moulds, CEO of KidsOut comments, “Most of the children at crisis centres leave home with only the clothes on their back. They’re in there with nothing, at a time of year when more fortunate children are inundated with gifts from relatives and friends. Our aim is to ensure that every child in refuge has at least some joy at Christmas, especially during a time of crisis. The Giving Tree Scheme is central to us being able to deliver on this goal”.
Rick Smyth, Corporate Partner at Wilkes and co-chair of KidsOut in the Midlands said “We have run the Giving Tree scheme at Wilkes for the last four years, and every year it has proved immensely popular with staff and clients alike. In 2015 KidsOut managed 25,000 toys nationally. Due to the tremendous support of companies across the country – many of whom are Wilkes clients – last year we almost doubled that. This year we are determined to do even better!
