CSR update: May 2021

2020 started with all good intentions for our CSR initiatives until Covid19 struck and halted most of our activities. However, we did send what we had raised for Help Harry Help Others and we also sent some old client ledger balances sanctioned by the SRA to Acorns, our charity for last year.

Of course Covid-19 didn’t stop us and the fun really started in October when we had our pumpkin carving competition which was a huge success and raised £322 for Acorns. Carvers Ward End’s Covid-19 themed pumpkin won the day and then went on to come 2nd overall in the Acorns competition! Christmas Jumper day in December 2020 raised a further £292 for Acorns.

Covid-19 has had a particular impact on families so, not forgetting our local community, we donated a huge amount of food items to the Foodbanks local to City, Stanton and Carvers for the main school holidays.

Our final FUNdraising initiative for Acorns for the 20/21 year saw us all climbing Mount Everest by counting our weekly steps. Carvers Hodge Hill won the day so well done to them! We hope you are all feeling the benefits of the walking! A fantastic £365 was raised for Acorns in the process.

Finally, we voted in our new charity of the year for 21/22: Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Please continue to support your CSR Champions in our initiatives for this new charity and other CSR related activities.
