Corporate Team advises I.T. Company on £7m BGF Investment

The Wilkes Corporate team has advised Cirencester based APSU TWP Ltd (APSU) on its recent £7m investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF).

As an IBM Premier Partner, APSU is IBM’s highest technically accredited Business Partner in Europe and the only UK member of IBM’s Global Business Partner Advisory Council.  The Company provides technical consultancy, procurement, managed services, in-store and online retail solutions, cloud hosting and physical co-location.

The Corporate team was led by partner, Gareth O’Hara with assistance from Associate, Sam Forrest and Assistant, Mike Linford.  He comments: “Our relationship with Steve Morris, the CEO of APSU has been longstanding and he has an excellent track record of building businesses which we have been involved with.  This investment is part of another process of expansion.  We have done a number of other deals for clients who have received funds from BGF, in particular Palmer Hargreaves limited and China Industries Limited”.

APSU say BGF’s investment will enable APSU to recruit technical personnel in the UK to support overseas customers and build a bigger sales and operational capability to address the US and other overseas markets. Overseas expansion is being driven by existing customer demand.  APSU will now be considering selective acquisitions to enhance its service offering, both in the UK and internationally.

Steve Morris, CEO of APSU, commented: “I consider my relationship with Gareth and the Wilkes Partnership to be just that; a partnership, one which stretches back for seventeen years, since our first transaction together – and there have been many – I have never considered using anyone else.  APSU has an exciting and profitable future ahead and I very much look forward to continuing to work with Gareth and the Wilkes Partnership, as well as continuing to work with our customers and partners, both in the UK and internationally, to ensure that we exceed market expectations for both innovation and quality of services”.
