APRIL 2010 - ANNA DUNFORD TO LEAVE THE WILKES PARTNERSHIP
Birmingham-based solicitors, The Wilkes Partnership, has announced that Anna Dunford will retire from her role as Managing Partner at the end of the month after 25 years with the company.
Anna Dunford joined the firm in 1985, rising to Managing Partner in 1991. During this time she has played a key role in many of the Wilkes Partnership’s successes and in building the team into one the region’s strongest legal firms.
The Wilkes Partnership currently has a team of 17 partners and nearly 80 fee earners with teams specialising in commercial property; employment; and corporate services such as dispute resolution, turnaround and recovery, and intellectual property. It also provides services to private clients including tax planning, asset management, wills, probate and others.
Anna Dunford is leaving the Partnership to pursue personal interests and plans to remain active in the legal and business community as a Law Society accredited Lexcel Practice Management Standard consultant. She will be developing a legal, management and business consultancy career and assist practices to write, develop and acquire the Lexcel Standard. She will also remain in a consultancy role with The Wilkes Partnership for the next three years.
Anna Dunford said: “The Wilkes Partnership has been a huge part of my professional career and I’m delighted to be leaving the firm in such a strong position and with a fantastic team across the board. It’s been a difficult decision, but now feels like the right time to retire to pursue new interests. I’m looking forward to taking on new personal and professional challenges in the years ahead.”
Nigel Wood, Senior Partner added: “Anna has made an invaluable contribution to the success of the Partnership and her expertise and passion for the business has been second to none. We wish her every success for her future plans and are delighted to be retaining her knowledge and experience as a consultant. Mark Abrol who has been a partner since 1996 will be taking on the role of Managing Partner.”
